Celebrate the harvest with a day of folk traditions, music and tales.
Harvest Home is a FREE folk celebration at Sandwich Medieval Centre featuring:
– pop-up folklore exhibition from 10am – 5pm(ish)
explore Kent harvest traditions, seasonal customs and lore
– basket weaving display and workshops (stay tuned for timings)
found out more about the heritage craft of basketry with Anna Pirt
– Kent Folk Tales at dusk – 6pm start
an evening of traditional tales and tunes, with masterful yarnsmith Dave Tonge, live acoustic music from
Greg Ireland and Krista Bubble, and Sandwich Medieval Centre’s famous licensed bottle bar!
This Folk Lore Kent project event is supported by BASH and Sandwich Medieval Centre, and is featured on the national Heritage Open Days programme. The event is free to attend, thanks to funding from The Georgina Maddox Trust and our dedicated group of volunteers.
