Profile
I have been a resident of Sandwich South for more than 35 years and attended the Infant, Junior and Secondary schools in Sandwich.
My previous service as a Sandwich Town Councillor began after being elected via a Sandwich South by-election in October 2007 until I decided not to seek re-election in May 2019.
In July 2022 I successfully fought a by-election (again in Sandwich South) as an Independent endorsed by Sandwich Matters and was honoured to be re-elected in May 2023 as both a Sandwich Town Councillor and the first Independent Dover District Councillor for Sandwich since the 1983-1987 term of office. At Dover District Council I serve on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Having been past Chair of the Sandwich and District Chamber of Commerce and the Sandwich Festival Association, I am now Chair of the Sandwich Society and Vice-Chair of both the Sandwich-Honfleur Twinning Association and the Sandwich Community Events Association (SCEA) as well as being a Sandwich Guildhall Museum Volunteer, Trustee / Director of Gazen Salts Nature Reserve and a Curfew Bell Ringer.
Since being elected to Sandwich Town Council in July 2022 I have been a former appointed member of the Planning Committee and a current member of the Heritage and Townscape Committee.
I am committed to working with my Sandwich Town Council colleagues collaboratively to deliver both on their programme for the town and their objectives for openness, transparency and accountability.
I have over thirty years of experience as a supply chain professional and am currently employed as a Supply Chain Compliance Controller in the HVAC industry.
